Now, as in many cartoons and games, the player will be able to move on this tool, using all available mechanics and the standard physics of Minecraft. It turned out to be an interesting and unique mod that wins over with its functionality and high-quality implementation. The Ashen Witch Broom mod will add a witch outfit and a broom you can fly on. This is a universal means of movement that works roughly like elytra, but it has its own specific characteristics, limitations, and properties. It turned out to be an unusual mod offering many different ways to use it (PvP, quickly crossing biomes and locations, exploring dimensions, and so on). And there is its own control system, specific crafting, some advantages and disadvantages. We tried to add as many screenshots as possible to show all the possibilities of this add-on, however it’s hard to convey all the emotions and atmosphere in pictures, so it’s easier to download the mod once and try testing it yourself!

Now you will have the opportunity to move not only with elytra when it comes to air travel. You can’t always quickly obtain this item, especially at the early stages of survival, and for full use you have to apply the “Mending” or “Unbreaking” enchantments so the elytra don’t break quickly. And this requires a certain experience level, an enchanting table, and other resources. If you make yourself a broom, the mechanics will be many times simpler, and players will be able to move around the game world using such items. And this opens up a huge number of new possibilities, which we talk about in this material.

You will be able to create a specific witch outfit, which consists of a hat and a costume (it goes in place of the chestplate and almost completely covers your character’s appearance). But they do not affect riding the broom or its behavior in any way. You can make these outfits from wool of a specific color, and this is very important. You will have to obtain dyes to craft such items. You can see the crafting in the screenshots we attached in this material. Visually it looks very cool and unusual, however it doesn’t really protect the player, so you shouldn’t count on any powerful attributes!

The broom is that very transport and tool in one, which is used for moving around the game world. Its crafting is simple (we posted a screenshot), however you will need one ghast tear to create it, so not every player can afford such an element, but it’s enough to kill at least one ghast in the Nether to make a broom and then use it constantly. The default speed is 18 blocks per second, and these are quite normal parameters. But if you wish, you can change the values in the mod settings. It is not recommended to set too high a speed, otherwise you may be kicked from the server, since Minecraft has default limitations.

How do you control the broom?

• Placing the broom — if it’s in your inventory, you need to move it to an active slot, then right-click (RMB), and from that moment it will levitate in space, roughly at your level;
• W and S — move forward and backward;
• A and D — move left and right, turn;
• ALT — descend, lower altitude;
• Space — ascend, gain altitude;
• Shift — dismount, get off the vehicle.

The R key can also be used in the game to quickly call the broom to you. Wherever it is, the item will be moved to the point where the player is currently located. And this mechanic is really convenient: at any moment you summon the broom to yourself to move around the game world, and even if you accidentally die, you then return it to the spot. Several universal commands are added for players, mainly intended for users with certain permissions, but administrators can grant permission to use them — for example, locating the broom, displaying broom statistics, clearing items.

How brooms can be used in Minecraft:

• Moving around the game world. The standard functionality originally intended by the developer. Now it’s no problem for you to cover any distance, large oceans, dimensions, and many other territories;
• Map playthroughs. You can very well create some maps with progression or competitions between players, and if it’s a multiplayer server, then separate locations;
• Clan or mass battles, competitions. You remember how the competitions in Harry Potter went, right? Here you can arrange roughly the same thing, and players will move on brooms, competing with each other.

The implementation of the Ashen Witch Broom mod is really top-notch, and it’s one of the few tools that adds a small number of items which offer many different possibilities. There are no problems when moving on the broom; everything works correctly and smoothly. The appearance of the item itself and the outfit for the character is also pleasing. The developer of this add-on recently released their product, and it is a relatively new expansion for Minecraft. If different updates continue to be released, then we may see something new in the near future.
