A Minecraft player has to deal with different gameplay mechanics if he wants to survive. It’s not just about mines or building houses. As time goes by, you have to craft different types of potions, explore new biomes, dungeons, dimensions, fight bosses, tame animals, enchant armor and tools. Enchantment is perhaps one of the most important stages, as you can get more effective tools, powerful weapons, and armor with important characteristics. And all of these require experience. The character’s interface displays the currently available total experience level (XP). But you can’t see how many points you need to get to upgrade to the next level. A known issue?
The EXP Counter mod adds an additional experience (XP) counter to Minecraft, which shows how many more points you need to upgrade to the next level in real time. Most players find this information very important, as you can roughly understand how many mobs you need to kill or interact with furnaces, or mine ore to get a certain number of XP. The developer of EXP Counter has added really important functionality to Minecraft, which will be in demand in almost any build. That’s why this mod has already been downloaded over 400,000 times!
The EXP Counter add-on will automatically show the amount of XP (experience) in the character’s interface, which is required to proceed to a new level. By default, the progress bar consists of only one small bar in Minecraft, but it’s not entirely clear how many points are left before we can upgrade. The EXP Counter mod has been introduced to complement this interface, fitting perfectly into the general style of the game, without interfering into the Minecraft balance and simply providing important information to any user. Just look at the screenshots, how convenient and organic it is! It’s very strange that the Mojang developers didn’t think of adding such a system to the vanilla version of the game.
The game’s fan community is always «ahead of the curve», as the collective mind will always be smarter than the development team with so many people and so many opinions. Thanks to support from ordinary users, such mods as EXP Counter can appear, because the creators of these add-ons «feel the pain» of the players and a lack of certain functions. The counter of XP required to reach the next level will be displayed on the same line as the progress bar from the vanilla version of the game. It’s just that all the counters were organically located on top of it, so as not to clutter up a side of the interface. If you look at the screenshots, you’ll see that it looks very convenient!
As soon as you install XP Counter, all changes will be automatically applied and the addition to the character interface will immediately appear. All you need is to select the mod version for your build and install it. However, EXP Counter has certain settings that you can use to fine-tune the appearance. For example, the player can enable or disable the counter in the settings without removing the mod from the general list. This is very convenient if you don’t need it at the moment or the user just needs to test something in the game. You can also adjust the tab position on the X and Y axis to choose the best location option, although the EXP Counter mod looks great by default and harmoniously complements the standard functionality of the Minecraft game.
Another important parameter is the ability to change the color of the counter that displays information about the number of points left «to the next level», as well as for the general experience counter. That is, the mod developer has added several points for you to customize. And it’s a really convenient option for such a small mod, although many creators of large projects don’t add so many settings. In general, it’s a very convenient and well-though-out mod, which allows the players to always find out how much experience they have to gain to reach the next level in the game.
The EXP Counter mod will be useful for both experienced Minecraft players and beginners. For example, you’ve just recently entered the game world and decided to enchant a pickaxe, but the enchantment table indicates that you need to get a certain level. You start collecting experience, and you don’t understand how much is left to «get». This is where EXP Counter comes to the rescue, displaying all the necessary information for users. It’s highly recommended for any build to complement the Minecraft functionality. If you have any third-party mods that you often include in your build, you can write about them in the comments below so that other users can rely on your experience and benefit from these interesting add-ons.
