In Minecraft there are several indicators that you constantly have to monitor: the character's health, hunger, and accumulated experience. However, even in the vanilla version of the game, we constantly interact with a large number of items, so there is much more information here, which is displayed on the screen or appears only under certain conditions. And if you would like to display some “widgets” on top of the standard interface in the game, you can try installing a separate mod for this, which also supports other extensions. And this opens up many new opportunities for players!

The Immersive Overlays modification adds something like an overlay to the game, which will be displayed during gameplay. You can display the character’s XYZ coordinates, weather conditions, or time, as well as other data picked up from third-party add-ons. And this is a very important feature for players, which allows you to customize the interface in a way that is convenient for a specific user. It is a kind of widgets displayed on the screen. Why press F3 or use maps every time, if you can just show a small informer in the game that provides all the information? That’s where such a tool helps, and we made a detailed review about it!

By using this mod, players will be able to choose themselves what to display as widgets on the screen to get additional information. Moreover, you can configure certain parameters, for example, so that data from the compass is shown only if you are holding it in your hands at the moment, and as soon as you remove it from the active slot or replace it, the data disappears. And all these options work automatically, without requiring any actions from the player. In the configuration file, you can choose under what circumstances a certain HUD is shown, and how it will change depending on your actions.

By default, after installing the Immersive Overlays mod, when using a compass, data will appear on the side of your screen. While you hold the item in your hands, the information is displayed on the side, but as soon as you remove it from the active slot, it disappears. About the same happens with the clock: if it is currently in your hands, the current server time is displayed, but as soon as you remove it or replace it with another item, the data disappears. And the nicest thing is that this add-on supports many other Minecraft modifications, displaying different information. For example, Caverns & Chasms, the popular Spelunkery mod, or Supplementaries. The list is constantly expanding, as the author actively updates the product.

The overlay can be customized by choosing its position on the screen. This way, any user can select the appearance, for example, on the right or left side, if they already have some panels displayed on the screen or just want to see additional information only in a certain area. No matter what biome the player is currently in (both in normal vanilla survival and while playing with different modpacks), they will be able to view information on the screen automatically. And such a system helps in many cases. Below we published an approximate list of applications:

· Creating adventure maps. As soon as the player finds a clock or compass, they will immediately be able to use them to find a certain location, view information about the current time, since by default this information is not available;

· Realistic survival. If you are creating a modpack for realistic playthrough and survival, you can install this mod to show players’ location or time only when the player is holding the corresponding items;

· Item usage. In the vanilla version of the game, by default, clocks and compasses are not used very often by players, since these items do not provide significant functionality, and it is easier to install a third-party minimap mod or press F3. Here, however, there is additional motivation to craft such items, since they immediately show important information.

Important to know! In the new versions of this add-on, HUD information is displayed even if the item is simply lying in your inventory. You can throw it into the quick access bar or just into the character’s inventory, and calmly go about your business: killing mobs, mining ores, building houses, farming, and many other activities.

As a result, this turned out to be an interesting mod that integrates with other add-ons in the game, where different types of data can be provided: biomes, important attributes, boss information, and much more. The list is constantly expanding, so it is recommended to add the Immersive Overlays add-on to your modpack, and then combine it with various modifications. You will receive different types of information and will be able to display it only when you need it.
