Most biomes in Minecraft, just like in real life, will be surrounded by water. These can be vast, endless oceans, small lakes, rivers, and often players settle near them to recreate some unique style, build their underwater castle, create a platform, waterfalls, and many other structures. But many players also prefer simply pouring water with buckets on some of their locations to create some interesting things. However, in the vanilla version of the game, the mechanics of using items and liquids don’t work very well, and visually, it looks a bit lame!
The More Waterlogging mod adds more realism to the gameplay. All items that are underwater or on water will be partially submerged in it, smoothly surrounded by water on all sides without any air barriers. In the vanilla version of the game, when a liquid is placed, an invisible frame always appears, preventing the water from passing through, and it looks rough and unrealistic. If you’d like to change this mechanic in the game and observe the changes in the world, we recommend checking out our review to see what innovations it adds, what the advantages of the mod are, and how this system works in general.
Water is also a block that can spread in all directions, flooding the surrounding area. However, when interacting with different items and elements, it doesn’t work realistically, leaving invisible air frames on objects upon contact. For example, if you pour water over an enchantment table, an anvil, or a cake in Minecraft, these items will be completely covered with liquid when using this mod, and this mechanic will work properly. While in the vanilla version, a barrier with invisible content appears between blocks and water. Not every player notices this, but if there’s an opportunity to fix the flaws, why not use such functionality?
· Support for items and objects. Almost all elements from the vanilla world are supported by the new mechanic. Water covers them as much as their height allows. For example, if an anvil is completely covered with liquid, the enchantment table will stick out slightly because the book is located at the top of the block;
· Works with building materials. Since there are many building blocks and materials in Minecraft, it’s very important for them to be supported by this mod, especially underwater. The developer took all the nuances into account and added such a feature;
· Covers small elements. Remember that in the game world, there are buttons, banners, comparators, and other small elements that occupy one block but are very small in size? When using this mod, water completely covers such elements, without creating any air barriers between them;
· Automatic activation. After installing the More Waterlogging add-on, players don’t need to configure anything. All changes take effect automatically, and you just need to add the elements you want to cover with water to make it look as realistic as possible;
· Support for other items. You can change the behavior of water not only with vanilla elements but also with items and blocks from other mods, though in each case, you’ll need to check that everything works correctly.
Even though in the vanilla version of the game, the interaction of water with various items and blocks looked terrible, this can easily be fixed in just a few clicks using tools like this. Players need to do very little, and if you haven’t tried such a mod yet, be sure to install and test it. Now players will be able to create entire underground structures, for example, for exploring locations or huge maps with “Aqua Affinity” or “Respiration” helmets so they can stay underwater for a long time and complete certain tasks. And visually, the interaction with water will look completely different.
As you can see, the functionality is quite useful, although at first glance it may seem unnecessary in the vanilla world. If you’re recording videos or creating your own adventure maps, having More Waterlogging is a must. Players often have to interact with water, add it for automatic farms, or infinite sources, so visually this also plays a big role. And if you have shaders installed to enhance the graphics, then the interaction of water with other items and blocks will look even more realistic. All that’s left is to try it and share your experience in the comments if you really enjoyed the functionality.
