«The Ravenous Boss» in Minecraft

In regular survival mode, players constantly encounter various hostile mobs, but they are not that dangerous. The main bosses here are the Ender Dragon, the Warden, and the Wither. With some experience, any player can easily defeat such a creature, so in principle there is nothing too difficult. And if you lack action, want to diversify the list of available bosses and add something new to the game world, then you can try playing with the «Ravenous Boss», which has a large number of different attacks, looks terrifying, poses a serious danger, and greatly spices up the vanilla survival gameplay.

The Ravenous modification adds a new mob to the game that belongs to the boss category. It is called «The Ravenous», has enormous size, several mouths for devouring food and enemies, possesses different types of attacks, and represents a real problem for many players. Even if you are very experienced in the game, this will drastically change your perception of the gameplay and make you feel like a beginner again. And so that you roughly understand the uniqueness of this mob, we tried to tell all the most important features of the boss, described its advantages, disadvantages, and characteristics, and clearly showed how it looks in the game world. The boss is very large in size, its body is covered with «mouths», hungry and terrifying, and the mob itself looks strange. It has long claws that allow it to deal damage to opponents from a distance. Overall, this is a very dangerous opponent for any player, both beginners and experienced ones. The mob has sharp hearing, an insatiable hunger, and is ready to «tear apart» anyone it meets on its path. It blends well into desert biomes, since it has a similar shade of textures. But if you encounter it in regular forests or plains, the creature is simply impossible to «miss». But this is just the introduction.

The Ravenous

· Acoustic hearing. This mob has about the same detection mechanics as the «Warden». Using its hearing, it can detect you from dozens of blocks away. Any jumps, walking, and other actions by players will attract the mob’s attention. If you remain «motionless», you can avoid combat;

· Block destruction mechanics. This boss can easily destroy almost any block in the game, so you won’t be able to hide behind them. Only obsidian and bedrock are immune. Theoretically, it can demolish any type of building, from villages to player structures;

· Destructive «scream». The Ravenous has a unique destructive scream, and if it sees that you are trying to run away, it emits this sound to stun you and knock you back several blocks. As soon as the mob uses this option, all light sources and glass nearby will be destroyed;

· Presence threat. At night, the «Ravenous» is a greater threat, as it is harder to deal with due to poor visibility, although the boss itself is unaffected by the day-night cycle and can attack at any time;

· «Satiation» mechanic. The «Ravenous» will always have a need for food, so it constantly tries to find an animal or villager to «devour». Small animals count as 0.5 units of hunger restoration, but one such boss can easily wipe out an entire village;

· Empowerment. This boss has the ability to «evolve», and with each strike it becomes much larger in size, stronger in power, gains much more force, and moves faster through the game world. For players, this is a serious danger, and if you try to attack it in melee combat, not even good armor will save you.

In the vanilla version of the game, after installing The Ravenous mod, you will have access to creative mode with spawn eggs. The Ravenous is available here in several evolutions (there are 4 total). The earliest eggs spawn simpler variants of the boss, and you choose which version to spawn in the game world if you are testing the mod in creative mode.

Screech

In addition to the boss, another small mob called «Screech» will also appear in Minecraft. Every time the Ravenous kills other entities, it has a chance of laying eggs. From them hatch small mobs that help it in battle. And they also have certain features.

· Fast bites. Despite its small size, the «screech» can quickly bite its victim and immediately run away, repeating this cycle until the entity is completely killed;

· Hunting cry. If the mob cannot attack or its damage is insufficient, it uses a «cry» to make the situation worse for opponents;

· Mutation and growth. Over time, the screech turns into a full-fledged «Ravenous» mob, which already poses a serious threat to players. If you don’t want «problems», it’s better to kill them right away to avoid fighting a big mob later.

Weapons for the player

It is difficult to oppose the boss with the vanilla weapon set, so the developer of The Ravenous mod added unique weapons for players. You will get the «Antihowl», which is used against the «Ravenous». It also translates as «Stunning». You need to place the item in the active slot and right-click to stun the enemy. For 7 seconds, the mob will not be able to do anything, but this weapon has its own cooldown for recharging.

An interesting mod that allows you to significantly diversify boss battles in Minecraft and try something new. The Ravenous and the Screech pose a threat to players, but you are given all the necessary tools to deal with these creatures and detailed instructions on how to act. The add-on can be used both in single-player mode on any map and on a server if you need to add it for a large project. With such modifications, players’ gameplay will never get boring, and they will always be occupied with something.
